About the role:
We are currently looking for a Grade 2 Allied Health Assistant (AHA) to join us on a part-time basis until February 2027 at the Graham St campus, in a parental leave cover role. This role will work in the Victorian Paediatric Rehabilitation Service (VPRS) with the opportunity to also work across the Physiotherapy Department, and is a great opportunity to increase your AHA skills & competency across two different teams and a variety of patients and duties.
VPRS is a specialist assessment and treatment service for children and adolescents who, as a result of injury, medical/surgical intervention or functional impairment, will benefit from a program of developmentally appropriate, time-limited, goal-focused, multidisciplinary rehabilitation.
The Physiotherapy Department is a large team consisting of Physiotherapists, Exercise Physiologists and Allied Health Assistants, who are responsible for providing services to the acute & subacute wards, and also the outpatient and community services.
Our AHAs may assist the teams to deliver client centred services across different areas of the hospital and in the community. The role involves completing a variety of direct and indirect clinical and administrative tasks. You may assist a client to complete an exercise program, or activity of daily living, assist with facilitating a group program, order, clean and manage deliver of equipment and assist with the co-ordination of resources required for health professionals and clients.
The AHA will work as part of the multidisciplinary team.
