About the role:

Goulburn Valley Health is seeking motivated and committed individuals to join our team as Intensive Care Registrars. We offer 12-month contracts, with the possibility of a further 12-month extension upon negotiation.

Successful candidates will have access to comprehensive ICU training. From the second year onwards, a range of external registrar rotations aligned with CICM training requirements are available. These include rotations in Anaesthesia, Adult Internal Medicine, and Emergency Medicine.

 

About the unit:

The Intensive Care Unit (ICU) at Goulburn Valley Health is located at the Graham Street Campus. While we have ten physical ICU beds, we are currently funded for five ICU equivalents.

 

As one of the major regional ICUs in Victoria, we manage over 750 admissions annually.

Goulburn Valley Health holds G6 accreditation from the College of Intensive Care Medicine (CICM), allowing for six months of general ICU training. Our unit treats a diverse case mix, including general and subspecialty surgical patients, medical and subspecialty medical patients, as well as patients from our busy oncology service.

Eligibility criteria:

  • Current General Registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) as a Medical Practitioner.
  • At least three years’ postgraduate medical experience.
  • International Medical Graduates who have successfully completed both the AMC CAT MCQ Examination and the AMC Clinical Examination (or AMC Workplace-Based Assessment) are also encouraged to apply.
