About the program

GV Health delivers a diverse array of clinical alcohol and other drug (AOD) programs and services to individuals in the Goulburn Valley catchment and Hume region. This position will lead our Residential Withdrawal Services. 

 

About the role

This exciting opportunity exists for a registered nurse to join our multidisciplinary Alcohol and Drug Services Team at GV Health as a Clinical Nurse Consultant (CNC) with a key focus on Residential Withdrawal and AOD Clinical Liaison Service delivery. The CNC AOD will work as part of the multi-disciplinary team providing specialist alcohol and other drug assessment, therapeutic clinical interventions, care and support to people with substance use disorders.

 

The CNC AOD will work in tandem with other clinical and community support services assisting clients/patients to access the full range of interventions across the care continuum.  They will work with the range of factors affecting service users to deliver client/patient focused therapeutic approaches for recovery oriented, evidence-based care.

 

 

We are looking for: 

  • Current registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency as a Registered Nurse
  • Minimum of five (5) years of clinical nursing experience across a variety of hospital and practice settings i.e. Emergency, Medical, Critical Care, ICU, Residential Withdrawal 
  • Desirable - Postgraduate Diploma (or higher) in Addiction Studies (or equivalent/related field)
  • Experience working in and/or knowledge of the Alcohol and other Drug sector with a broad understanding of relevant teritary, primary care and community services
  • High level clinical case management skills with demonstrated experience supporting people experiencing complex physical, psychological and social issues and demonstrated ability to access and integrate specialist supports
  • Ability to effectively work as a member of a multi-disciplinary team as well as to work autonomously in a self-directed way, including the ability to work with initiative and appropriately with limited direction
