About the Role
A career in the mental health sector is diverse, challenging and rewarding. If you are passionate about working with and supporting people through their mental health journey towards recovery then a clinical psychology registrar program at GV Health will support you towards your career goals. You will be part of a diverse, caring and supportive team that aims to make a meaningful difference in the lives of people living with mental illness and/or problematic substance use. Working across community, hospital and outreach settings you will be offerred opportunities to consolidate and upskill specialist mental health skills to provide consumer centred care to those living will a mental illness or struggling with emotional health and wellbeing.
In addition, GV Health has committed to providing psychology registrars with a range of supports over and above those required in the Psychology EBA or by the Psychology Board of Australia, including:
- Up to four (4) clinical rotations across GV Health Mental Health and Wellbeing services including opportunities to work across the lifespan and with diverse services and teams eg Headspace, child and adolescent and adult mental health, community mental health and inpatient facilities.
- Weekly supervision and regular group and peer supervision.
- A range of continuing professional development opportunities above those in the standard EBA entitlement, including:
- Up to 10 professional development days for approved training, designed to support early career psychologists to develop a broader skills and knowledge in public mental health care and systems
- Four hours per week of protected learning time
- Reduced clinical case load
- Support from experienced psychology supervisors, and a specialist psychology educator to support you in your skill development.
- Support from the Allied Health and Research Education Team and opportunity to attend targeted professional development to support your onboarding into working in a public health mental health environment
- Five weeks of annual leave, monthly ADOs, and salary packaging.
