About the Role: Clinician HOPE Program

The HOPE Program was an initiative established by the Victorian State government to provide support to individuals experiencing suicidal crisis in the setting of psychosocial stressors. The aim of the program is to provide a person-centred approach to decrease suicidality and provide therapeutic support to the individual. GV Health HOPE has a site in Shepparton and Seymour from which services are provided. This position is based at the Shepparton HOPE location. Consumers engaged with the Program are able to receive support for 3 months.

 

We are seeking an experienced mental health clinician to provide support and treatment to individuals involved in the program. If you have always wanted to utilise your clinical skills to undertake therapeutic work and provide individual therapy to consumers then this is the role for you. The team consists of clinical staff and Lived/Living Experience staff who work in collaboration within the team and with the consumers/carers to improve their wellbeing. As a clinician on the team you will utilise your clinical skills to undertake therapeutic interventions with the consumers of the program. The program currently operates during business hours but on occasions some after-hours may be required to meet consumer and carers needs.

 

 

The successful candidate will have:

  • Qualifications suitable for the position such as: OT, Nursing, Psychology, Social Work with AHPRA or other relevant professional registration.
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience as a Mental Health Clinician preferably with community mental health experience
  • Detailed knowledge of and ability to implement a range of clinical interventions in regard to suicide prevention and client focused care
  • Understanding of differing therapeutic approaches and some experience in provision of individual therapy 
  • Demonstrated ability to undertake comprehensive assessments including psychosocial needs and risk.
  • Understanding of Lived experience perspective and how this contributes to consumer and carer support
