About the role:

The MHARS clinician provides informed clinical advice and consultation to Magistrates, CCS staff, members of the legal profession, other relevant professionals and community agencies in relation to mental health issues and to provide a recovery orientated service to consumers. The role includes liaison work with key stakeholders as well as direct assessment, referrals and treatment planning for consumers referred to MHARS.  An understanding of the legal system, court protocols and associated processes is required as well as knowledge of relevant legislation.

 

The successful candidate should have:

  • Previous experience in similar or same role
  • Post-Graduate qualification in Forensic Mental Health
  • Ability to contribute to the development and delivery of training for Magistrates, Community Correctional staff, members of the legal profession, 
    other relevant professionals and community agencies in relation to mental health issues
