POSITION SUMMARY
The position of the Graduate Registered Nurse; Mental Health has been established to provide an opportunity for graduate nurses to work in mental health services. This position is suitable for an enthusiastic registered nurse who has completed academic studies that lead to entry to the nursing profession.
The registered nurse assists and works with other mental health staff to organise and co-ordinates quality care for consumers, carers and families who present to Goulburn Valley Area Mental Health and Wellbeing Service (GVAMHWS). This position supports the transition of the new graduate registered nurse to independent practice. This position also supports ongoing learning needs with continued studies in mental health that encourages ongoing professional learning and further post graduate study in mental health.
The Suitable applicant will have:
- Registration as a Registered Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (NMBA) through Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency (AHPRA) prior to commencement in the Graduate Nurse Program
- Commit to the requirements of a Graduate Nurse Program
- Practice in accordance with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia Registered Nurse Standards
of Practice - Demonstrate motivation to learn and engage in various clinical environments across various sites.
- Be able to work rotating shifts across a 24 hour or any other roster pattern as required in the clinical
environment. This may include weekends and public holidays.
