About the role

GV Health has multiple full-time Allied Health Gap Year Trainee positions available in 2027.

This is an excellent opportunity to spend your gap year gaining practical experience in healthcare while working as part of GV Health’s Allied Health team. Throughout the year, trainees will rotate through a range of Allied Health disciplines, providing exposure to different areas of healthcare and the opportunity to develop valuable workplace skills.

The program is a paid, full-time position starting in January 2027 through to December 2027, and provides an opportunity to complete your Certificate IV qualification while working and learning in a supportive healthcare environment.

We are looking for

  • Students who have completed either their Year 12 VCE or VCAL in 2026 and are interested in a career in Allied Health
  • Commitment to studying and completing a Certificate IV in Allied Health Assistance whilst working in a dynamic health service
  • The ability to work collaboratively as part of a multi-disciplinary team
  • A willingness to contribute to quality patient care
  • Well-developed interpersonal skills, including an ability to communicate effectively with other staff, patients and families
  • A commitment to a GV Health’s CREATE values
  • Competent IT skills

Selection Criteria

  • Commitment to the GV Health Values of Compassion, Respect, Excellence, Accountability, Teamwork and Ethical Behaviour and ability to exhibit behaviour which reflects our values.
  • Satisfactory National Criminal History Check, Victorian Employee Working with Children Check and completion of a Commonwealth of Australia Statutory Declaration prior to commencement of employment.
  • Commitment to studying and completing a Certificate IV in Allied Health Assistance.
  • Completed Year 12 VCE or VCAL in 2026 - and interested in a career in Allied Health.

Completion of a Commonwealth of Australia Statutory Declaration is required prior to commencement.
