About the role:
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Day of Surgery Admissions (DOSA) Nurse to join our perioperative team. This is an excellent opportunity to play a pivotal role in ensuring patients are optimally prepared for surgery, while delivering compassionate, high-quality care in a fast-paced environment.
As a DOSA Nurse, you will be responsible for performing comprehensive pre-operative assessments, coordinating and delivering pre-operative care, ensuring patients are clinically and emotionally ready for their procedure. You will work closely with multidisciplinary teams to facilitate efficient patient flow and safe surgical outcomes. You will also be responsible for the last stage of recovery prior to discharge from the organisation, providing comprehensive post-operative care.
Successful candidate will have:
- Current registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency as a Registered Nurse
- Minimum of 2 years postgraduate experience
- Demonstrated excellent written, verbal and interpersonal skills
- Basic knowledge of patient management and information systems
- Computer literacy at intermediate level for Microsoft applications
- Knowledge of current statutory requirements including relevant awards, OH&S.
- Demonstrated commitment to teamwork and the maintenance of a supportive work environment.
