About this role
This role has been established to enable Registered Nurses to transition from acute nursing settings into mental health nursing settings and build on skills and competencies relevant to the field. This 12-month structured program provides orientation, supervision and support to meet competencies and to engage in autonomous practice while working as a member of a multidisciplinary team and in partnership with individuals, families, networks working towards recovery goals. The position will be made up of three rotations over the twelve months and be based in Shepparton and/or Seymour and is embedded into the clinical program.
The successful applicant will:
- Current registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency as a Registered nurse
- Successful completion of a graduate year in registered nursing
- Be willing to participate and complete all aspects of the transition to mental health nursing learning and professional development program
- Have a commitment to mental health nursing for people with serious mental health issues
