Relocating to Our Region

About the role

Come and join the GV Health Rural Allied Health Team (RAHT), a team with a well renowned supportive workplace culture with an opportunity to work alongside an experienced Speech Pathologist and team of Allied Health Professionals.  You will work autonomously, undertake a varied and diverse workload and provide interventions in predominately home based settings, making a true difference to our client’s independence and well-being. There is no nursing home work.

The team is an established and progressive multi-disciplinary team which includes Dietetics, Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy, Podiatry, Social Work and Speech Pathology services, supported by Allied Health Assistants. 

 

The Speech Pathologist will provide person centred care with an opportunity to:

  • Travel across the Goulburn Valley region working in home and clinic settings
  • Work with consumers, carers and families to provide practical solutions to promote independence and safety at home
  • Provide specialist intervention to clients with dysphagia and complex communication disorders
  • Advise on appropriate communication aids and devices
  • Develop goals and care plans to assist consumers to remain at home and active in their local community
  • Work with a diverse range of consumers and health conditions
  • Participate in student training programs
  • Participate in service development and quality improvement initiatives

We are looking for

  • Bachelor of Applied Science (Speech Pathology).
  • A member of Speech Pathology Australia (SPA) and participating in the SPA professional self regulation program).
  • Knowledge and experience in the delivery of Speech Pathology services within home and community-based settings.
  • Knowledge of the service system and ability to liaise and advocate across the full spectrum of health and community care.
  • A Clear/Satisfactory National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) Check or willingness to obtain before commencement
