About the role
This role would suit an experienced speech pathologist with strong clinical skills within a hospital setting. We are a well-staffed, experienced and forward-thinking team and require candidates, with collaborative and supportive communication skills.
As a Grade 2 speech pathologist you will be responsible for providing high quality patient care in our admitted services (acute/sub-acute). We are a large regional hospital with a broad range of patients and therefore the caseload is varied and changeable. You will have skills in prioritising and managing your workload, clear decision-making and the ability to draw on and support your team. This includes independently assessing, planning, recommending and implementing a wide range of speech pathology services to inpatients recovering from trauma, surgery, acute illness, neurological deficits and more.
Our Grade 2 speech pathologists are expected to hold advanced clinical reasoning, have experience with quality improvement projects, have relevant clinical experience and be able to support more junior staff through clinical supervision.
All team members receive clinical supervision in line with industry standards. We are well supported by our Allied Health Education Research Unit and encourage research and leadership development through our internal programs.
This position, amongst others, is responsible for promoting GV Health as a quality regional health service provider.

We are looking for
- Relevant tertiary qualification in Speech Pathology and eligibility for Certified Practicing membership of Speech Pathology Australia
- Experience in the management of adults with disorders of communication and swallowing within a hospital setting
- Videofluoroscopy competency highly regarded
- Paediatric dysphagia competency highly regarded
