About the role:
Opportunities exist for motivated individuals to join the Surgical Division as an Unaccredited General Surgical Registrar.
The Unaccredited General Surgery Registrars will be responsible, under the supervision of the Head of Unit, for assessment, planning, ongoing treatment and discharge of General Surgery patients. In addition, you will assist with the responsibility of the daily supervision of relevant Interns and/or HMOs and participate in Medical Student education and supervision..
Successful candidate will have:
- General Registration with AHPRA as a Medical Officer.
- Requirements for the Unaccredited Surgical Registrar posts will be a minimum of PGY3/4 experience and completion of the EMST Skills Training.
- Applicants should also possess highly effective communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to relate positively with and appropriately with patients and others.
- Applicants should also possess professional collegiality towards peers and the wider health care team and a commitment to Goulburn Valley Health values: compassion, respect, excellence, accountability, teamwork and ethical behaviour.
These positions are designed for future Surgical Trainees who are seeking to complete the requirements in order to apply for various RACS SET Streams. A Roster including a mixture of days and nights are required to be worked

The community we serve includes a large primary and secondary catchment, with a third and larger catchment for mental health services, which includes the shires of Mitchell and Murrindindi and the Wallan growth corridor.
Goulburn Valley Health’s primary catchment includes the local government areas of Greater Shepparton (70 percent of primary catchment population) and Strathbogie. Our total catchment stretches into southern New South Wales and the overall catchment population is approximately 150,000 people.
Goulburn Valley Health’s secondary catchment includes the western half of Moira Shire; and the eastern and southern portions of Campaspe Shire.
